Does someone here know how to vertically translate 3D surface plot in OriginPro, namely making changes in Z-axis while keeping data values in X-axis and Y-axis constant? I can see the menu option is available under Analysis->Data Manipulation->Vertical Translate. But after clicking this option and trying to work on a 3D surface plot, the program seems not responsive. Thanks.

Hi Frank,
You can simply add or subtract values to all Z's by entering the following formula in the script window:
1) If matrix: e.g., MBook1+=10;
2) If Z column in a worksheet: e.g., col(3)+=10; or col(C)+=10;

Hi Hideo,
It works visually without changing the data in Z-axis in the worksheet. Is there another function in OriginPro such that shifting in the plot can also be reflected as shifting in data in the worksheet? Thanks. |

Hi Frank,
You can shift the plotted 3D surface along Z direction as described here:

The control of "Shift in Z by percent of scale range, 0=bottom, 100=top" can be found in Plot Details dialog box (which appears by double-clicking the plot, or by choosing "Format: Plot Properties" menu; then by choosing "Surface" tab).
