 Import data with "+" in front of numbers

Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro2015
Operating System: Win7, 32bit

I am trying to import data containing numbers in the form "+8.500E+009". Unfortunately Origin recognizes them as text. Curiously it works with the numbers having a "-" instead of the "+". Can anyone help me to solve that problem?

Hi Florian,

In the Import Wizard, at the Data Column step, you can set your column type to "Numeric" instead of
"Text Numeric".
