Posted - 01/21/2015 : 11:00:22 AM Suppose I have 1000 (x,y) data points (not evenly distributed) and my x axes ranges from 0 to 2\pi. I'd like to have major ticks as
0 0.5\pi \pi 1.5\pi 2\pi
and one minor tick between each. I know I can divide x values by \pi and add suffix \g(p), but that will give "0 \pi" and "1 \pi" as opposed to "0" and "\pi": i.e. for the two ticks corresponding to 0 and pi, I want them to be "0 \pi". How to achieve that in origin? |

Not sure which version of Origin you are using.
In Origin 2015, on Scale tab, you can set the scale to be from 0 to 6.28. Major Ticks Type to be By Counts. Count =5.
On Display tab of Tick Labels tab Set the type as Tick Indexed String. Enter Display as 0 0.5pi pi 1.5pi 2pi
it will use these strings as major ticks labels.
Or use your way first so the axis scale is precisely 2*pi instead of just rounded 6.28. Once you got 0pi, 0.5pi, 1pi, 1.5pi and 2pi, go to Display tab, to set as I mentioned above.
