After having applied SR2 to Origin 7 SR1 it seems like switching to Button Edit Mode using Ctrl-B works no longer. Any ideas?

Hello,

With the introduction of in-place text editing in ver 7, CTRL-B was needed to bold selected text, like it works in other word processing programs such as MS Word. This was creating some confusion among users who were not familiar with the button edit feature - they would want to bold text, but would end up turning button edit mode on, and did not know what that meant. We therefore turned off this shortcut key to button edit mode.
