How do I calculate the area above the curve in Origin.

I have s-shaped plot.

Hi ALDE,

One quick way to do this is Integrate gadget with bottom part data masked. See the image below. The integrate gadget will dynamically calculate area colored as grey, and report the area on top. Apply the Integrate gadget on graph, choose constant y and maximum as baseline. Then use Mask Points on Active Plot tool on the left tool bar to mask the the point underneath which after is colored in red.



If in version 8, I think you may need to find or extract upper data points in the first quarter, and calculate area from menu Analysis: Mathematics: Integrate, with those data points as input and maximum y as baseline.

Hi,

You can utilize Integrate gadget by going to menu Gadgets:Integrate... to open tool.

Move and resize yellow rectangle to fit desired area as shown below:
