Origin can do all those things for me under WinXP, both before and after WinXp SP1.

Maybe if you can describe the problem?
Can you run Origin?
Can you make plots?
Can you export the graphs?

And you'll have to be more explicit than "doesn't work very well". I haven't tried Origin 5 in XP, but it works fine in Win2000. What's going wrong in XP?

I think you are most likely to find out that Origin v5 was designed for Win9x and the Win NT. Since Microsoft has changed so much with WinXP you can't really expect such an old version to work well. Version 7 is fully compatible.
