Hi.
I cannot make a plot 3d of my data (Color Map Surface)

I have always the message "X (or Y) Values has missing text or data", when I chose the option "1st row in selection" for "Y Values in" and "1st column in selection" for "X Values in".

I'm following the video tutorial available for this but following the same steps I have these messages appearing.

Great.

As Hideo said we improve this no such error will show in later versions.

Also we improve plot from Virtual Matrix in 2015 so you can even customize your X and Y data, as as text, date, time, etc.

And we also have Virtual Matrix Manager to better manage multiple virtual matrices.

Hi JPO,

I got your opj and tried in Origin 8.5 SR1.

It looks it's because there are missing values in bottom of your worksheet.
You can highlight those rows with -- values and delete them.

Then you should be able to plot the data.

Thanks, Snow

I tried in Origin 8.5 SR1 and no problem. With data similar to yours.

Could you choose Help: About Origin to see which SR version you have?

Could you try to run Help: Check for Updates to get latest 8.5 and see if the problem still exist?

Thanks, Snow

Hi Snow.

I've checked and the only -- value appearing is in the first collumn, first row.

I've attached the Origin file.

Any other possible solution?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards.

Hi JPO,

This seems a bug of Origin 8.5, and in the later versions, the error wouldn't happen.
To avoid this error, you need to choose other than "None" like "1st column in selection".
