Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.6
Operating System: win7
Hello,
I want to ask if it is possible for origin 8.6 to solve the equation ( such as "sin(x-y)-sin(2*y)=0"). Assuming x is the given dataset and I want to know y via this equation.

Hello,

To use Origin 2015 is recommended,
you can define the Implicit function in Fitting Function Builder:
as introduced in link below:
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/ImplicitFit-3Var

then, use simulate curve to view the curve in defined range
http://www.originlab.com/doc/X-Function/ref/simcurve
