Posted - 05/08/2015 : 5:30:51 PM When I export from Origin 9.1 to illustrator CS5, none of the fonts translate.
I get an error in illustrator that the file was made with a legacy version, and fonts have to be replaced/updated.
Which is OK, but the automatic replacement always leaves some other issues that have to be corrected by hand.
Any suggestions? I've tried all the versions of illustrator, I've tried it with different fonts, and nothing seems to work. |

Posted - 10/20/2015 : 6:12:30 PM Hi Origin team,
Is there any news on improving export to .ai format? I am using OriginPro 2015 b9.2.214 (I believe the latest) but there are still problems with exporting. The particular problem I am having is that fonts are not recognized by Illustrator.
Thank you |

Posted - 05/12/2015 : 01:51:37 AM Hi,
The exported text can still be edited but the font cannot be customized in illustrator.
We will look into the export type of AI as you have mentioned.
Regards!

Posted - 05/11/2015 : 12:38:22 PM Figured it out- most recent export type for AI from Origin 9.1 is for AI 7, which is not even supported as a legacy version by Adobe anymore. |

Posted - 05/11/2015 : 12:08:35 PM Won't that make it non-editable as text?
I can already export as EPS and use outlined fonts, but then I can't tweak fonts in Illustrator. |

Posted - 05/11/2015 : 03:23:30 AM Hi,
For local version Origin, you can set system variable @TO to 2 (default 0) in Script Window by command @TO=2; to make text drawn via polygons before export from Origin to Illustrator.
For remote desktop, set @EMRD = 0 to draw text via polygons.
Give it a try and see if it works!
Regards!
