Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 9.0.0 (23-bit) SR1 b76 (Government)

Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise - Service Pack 1, 64-bit Operating System.

Dear OriginLab,

See attachment: I want to create a ternary diagram in which each of the 3 sides does not represent a scale (from 0 to 1) but a point at which measurement took place.

To be more concrete: one side represents 5 different particle sizes, one side represents 6 different temperatures and one side represents 4 moisture content levels.

So this means that a particle of a certain size with a certain amount of moisture was tested at a certain temperature.

Please advice on how to create such a graph?

Many thanks and have a nice day!

Regards,

Gerold Kort

Hi Gerold,

I use a Ternary graph as a sample to set a dataset as the source of the tick labels.

1. Double click on the X axis to open the Axis dialog. If the ticks number is different from original axis, and go the "Scale" page. Then set the Major Tick.

2. Go to "Bottom" page under "Tick Lables". Then choose the "Type: Tick-indexed dataset" and the dataset name.

3. After setting, click OK.

Hope this information could help you.

Thanks
Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline & others,

I have tried to construct a ternary diagram in this way but I am unable to get the scales the way they are in the picture.

Is there an easier, or more clear way, to do this?

Thank you!

Regards,

Gerold

Hi,

We suggest you can:

1. Normalize your datasets
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Math-Normalize

2. Use the normalized dataset to create Ternary plot
From the menu, choose Plot: Specialized: Ternary.

3. Custom the Axis Tick Label using the original datasets.
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/AxesRef-TickLabels#Display_Tab
In the Axis diglog, under the Display tab, choose the "Type: Tick-indexed dataset" and the dataset name.

Thanks
Jacqueline
