I'm brand new to origin so I have a very basic question. I have one x categorical variable (lets call them control and treatment) and the y values which would be some numerical value.

My question is: is there any way I can input code that will separately average each individual group (i.e. the output is the separate averages for control and treatment)? This would especially be helpful since my data is mixed with control and treatments interleaved in the columns so I don't want to individually pick out all the data points of one treatment.

I realize I could simply make control and treatment separate y-values (right?) and individually average those columns, however I was hoping to circumvent this problem of manually formatting my data too much. Any help or alternate solutions are much appreciated, and if you need any clarification please don't hesitate to ask. Still trying to learn this platform!

The unstacking worked great, thank you so much!

To separate different catogories only, try this:

If you just want statistics result for different groups, try this:
