Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Originpro 15
Operating System:Win 10
I am new to using origin and part of my thesis work involves interpreting DSC curves and TGA analysis. The stock shimadzu software isnt that efficient in finding the enthalpy.
I would be really greatful if somone could guide me through the creating a sigmoidal baseline for the DSC curve and finding the area of the peak to estimate the enthalpy.

Hi,
This is can be done by using Peak Analyzer in Origin by choosing the goal as Integrate Peaks to integrate peaks with fitted baseline.
The very first step is to share sigmoidal function as baseline function, to do so go to menu Tools: Fitting Function Organizer to open dialog. Expand Growth/Sigmoidal category on left panel and right click on desired function and select Share to. In Share dialog, select Baseline as Share To option.
Here begins the major steps:
Highlight your data on worksheet or with plotted data window active, go to menu Analysis:Peaks and Baseline: Peak Analyzer. Select Integrate Peaks as Goal in 1st page.
Click Next button to go to Baseline Mode page, select User Defined as Baseline mode, first click Find button to auto find anchor points and uncheck Enable Auto Find checkbox and click Add button to add more anchor points for fitting them with sigmoidal function.
Click Next button, in Create Baseline page, select Fitting(Pro) as Connect by option and Select for example, DoseResp, as Function under Fitting node. By doing this, you will integrate peak below fitted baseline.
Click Next button 3 times, you can see there is option Integrate From is selected as Baseline. You can manually adjust the integration range by select Adjust on Preview Graph for Integration Window Width option.
Eventually, you can click Finish button to find the integration area.
