I am making a 3D colormap surface plot in origin 8.6. I would like to display line plots of the XY data and the Y-Y data on the back planes of the 3D plot, similar to the top and bottom projections. Is there a way to do this in Origin 8.6?
If not, i am curious if there is a way to just take another graph of the XY or YY data, merge them onto the same graph and then drag/skew/rotate the XY data so it overlays the rear planes in the 3D colormap plot. How might i stretch or skew the graphs? |

Hi,
You can try this method:
1. If there are X and Y columns for the line plot you need to create, add a new column and right-click it to set as Z column. And fill the column with the Z value of "back planes". Refer to the following image.
2. Add "3D Scatter" plot in the 3D surface graph with the new XYZ datasets. Then double-click on the "3D Scatter" plot to open the Plot Details dialog, and go to Line tab to check the "Connent Symbols" to show the line (green line in the image).
