Posted - 09/30/2015 : 04:26:12 AM The waterfall graph you created is 3D waterfall graph which doesn't support to change plot type to scatter.
For your case, you need create a 2D waterfall graph(by selecting Plot: Multi-Curves: Waterfall). But, as I said in previous reply, in Origin 8, 2D waterfall graph doesn't support 3 planes(XY, YZ and XZ planes).

Thanks for your help! Yes its a XYY data. I had gotten up to waterfall but couldnt make the scatter plot. If you could detail upon it as well, it would be great help.

So you have XYY... data, right? If so, you can first plot a waterfall graph and then change the plot type to Scatter.
See screenshot below:
Please note, Origin supports this kind of 2D waterfall (with 3 planes, XY, YZ and XZ) since 8.5.
