I just found a copy/export problem of the 3D waterfall graphs. When 3D waterfall graphs are exported as pictures or copied and pasted into Microsoft Word/PowerPoint, the graphs are always wrongly cropped as shown below. However, other 3D walls /bars graphs can be properly treated by OriginPro.
.
Are there any ways to avoid this problem?
Best regards,

Posted - 10/30/2015 : 02:03:29 AM Hi Redman,
Yes, I can reproduce the problem now by changing the "Tools:Options:Page:Margin Control" from "Page" to anything else. This is a known bug(ORG-6659), which has been fixed in our latest release version Origin 2016. Please consider upgrade your Origin to 2016 if possible. You can download a demo to have a try: http://www.originlab.com/demodownload.aspx
Thanks, Shirley

Posted - 10/29/2015 : 11:46:54 AM Hi, Shirley,
Thank you very much for your patient. I think I found the reason through our interactive posts. As the problem disappeared on your PC by clicking the embedded graph in Word 2016, I though about the customized settings. Today, I just renamed the 2015 customized folder, re-open originpro 2015, and created a default customized folder but without importing any early settings from previous versions (9.1 0r 9.0). When I tried "copy and paste" or "export", the problem disappeared!
(I start to use origin from the early versions (6.0). I have some templates and script files with me. Each time when I update to the new version, I always import the old customized files from it's previous version. However, these may cause problems.)

Posted - 10/28/2015 : 09:24:04 AM Hi, Shirley,
I just sent the files to the email address again (subject:FW: copy or export problem of 3D waterfall graphs (Posted in the Origin Forum)).
I operate Origin2015 directly on my PC. The "Enable Shearing" is already marked (otherwise the 3D graph will be flattened into a 2D graph).
I'm afraid it's a bug of Origin 2015. When you click each of the graph, a frame will show up. The "3D bars" graph is absolutely located inside its frame, but the size of the "3D waterfall" is too small to cover all the graph, as can be seen from the attachments below:

Sorry, I don't get the files you sent. Would you please send them to us again (via: tech@originlab.com) and quote this post in the email?
I met similar problem when I export graph as vector format by remote desktop from win10(see ORG-13845). Are you connecting an remote computer to do those operations?
In addition, after you plot 3D waterfall graph, can you open the Plot Details dialog to enable shearing? And then rotate the graph to a good view and export the graph again to see if the problem persists.
Thanks, Shirley

Posted - 10/27/2015 : 09:00:40 AM Hi, Shirley,
Thanks for your time. I just sent an Origin project file and a Word2016 file to you through the email you given above.
I just uninstalled the Origin pro 2015 and reinstalled it once again.
1.created a Origin Project by filling 3 Y columns with randomly generated data. Then plotted a 3D bars graph and a 3 D waterfall graph using the 3 Y columns. 2. I copied each of the graph by using "Ctrl+J" in the Origin, and pasted it into Word2016 by using "Ctrl+V". I also gave the snap of the Option/page settings in the Word 2016. 3. In word2016, the 3D bars graph shows normal, but the 3D waterfall is similar to that I posted early in this topic. 4. I also tried to export the graphs as BMP and WMF images. However, it seems that the BMP image OK for both graphs, but the WMF image only Ok for the 3D bars.

Sorry, we still can't reproduce the problem here.
Would you please send us a sample project and tell us detailed steps(export settings) and more useful information?
Thanks, Shirley

Posted - 10/26/2015 : 1:14:55 PM Hi, Shirley, Here are the answers to your concern:
1. The Image Type you exported Any type: WMF or JPG or BMP... 2. The version of Word and PowerPoint you are using: 2007 and 2016 3. Open the Options dialog(Selecting “Tools:Options”), go to Page tab, capture a screenshot and send it to us: It is not about the page setting. Other 3D graph such as "3D walls" or "XYY 3D bars" can be properly exported as images or into Word/PowerPoint. 4. Doesn’t this happen for specified project? If so, please send it to us via tech@originlab.com: It doesn't happen for specified project. Maybe you can create a data file, and plot it as a 3D waterfall graph, and try to export it, and then you will see the problem.
Best regards,
Redman
