Hello all,
I'm trying to build a grouped column indexed data plot but I'm having some problem with the ordering of the subsets once the plot is complete; as an example, let's say I have 3 solids A B and C with some specific values to each one and they underwent some treatment to see how those values were changed:
Solid Value (X axis) before
A 230 B 229 C 228
A1 229 after B1 228 C1 227
I set both columns as categorical expecting to have the subset sequence ABC A1B1C1, but instead I obtain ABA1 CB1C1 because the software set the value of 229 as the same category and plot both columns together. By the way, this is only for the X axis, the values for the Y axis present no problems whatsoever.
What do I need to do to have the plot with the desired sequence showing their corresponding values while keeping them as separates categories ?. |

I have replied to you in email. Please check.
The solution to this is to plot a simple column plot instead of grouped column and manually add X axis tick label table row and customize the color indexing.

Posted - 10/29/2015 : 01:49:29 AM Hi,
You should have two axis label rows, but I only saw one. Did you just hide it? You can double click on the X axis labels and you should see Bottom1 and Bottom2 options on the left panel:

If hidden, you can check Show box to reveal it.
I made one like this:

Can you send your sample opj file to tech@originlab.com so I can try on my side?
Thanks!
Regards!

You can refer to the figure below, highlight column C ("Data") and go to menu Plot:Column/Bar/Pie:Grouped Columns-Indexed Data to open dialog. Select "Group Column(s)" as shown:

Click OK you will have the graph you want.

That's what I'm looking for. I honestly don't know how to do it.

Posted - 10/28/2015 : 02:53:50 AM Thank you Sean, but this what I meant

Look at the plot

I want it that way but with the sequence ABC A1B1C1 NOT THE SEQUENCE ABA1 CB1C1.
Thanks in advance. |

Posted - 10/28/2015 : 02:06:04 AM Hi,
Suppose you have the data like below:

To make the plot you want, you simply need to highlight column C and go to menu Plot: Column/Bar/Pie: Grouped Columns-indexed data and select group columns as column B then column A as shown below:

Then click OK button you will have this plot:

If you want to change the order as "Before" then "After", you can go to data sheet and highlight column A and right click to select Set as Categorical and manipulate its order.
See tutorial below for more details of how to set it:

Hope this is what you want. If not, please explain in more details.
Regards!
