I would like to graph vertical lines from a column with about 5 to 10 data points. I find the method of add straightline > choosing vertical line and entering the value to be very tedious. I have about 20 sheets per workbook. Once I make the first graph, I would like to batch process it to make similar plots in all 20 samples.

I can confirm that the script in the last post simply places a dashed vertical line over the x=5 mark. "Mark1" is the given name, 0.5 represents the line's weight, 1 represents the dashes on the line, set it to 0 if you'd like your line to be solid. With a few modifications you should be able to take this script and place it in the "script before/after" boxes in the batch processing dialog to automatically generate vertical lines for the graphs you want to bring into your project.
You can also run batch processing on your graphs by right clicking on the Title Bar of your graph window (right next to the name e.g. Graph2, etc.) and selecting Duplicate>Batch Plotting.

And lastly if you're actually trying to add vertical lines for each individual set of data, I would also try vertical dropline graphs, which can be found in Plot>Symbol>Vertical Drop Line
