Hello OriginLab-Community!
A quick introduction of myself, because of being a new member here: My name is Manuel and I’m a student from Germany (so please excuse my bad english). For my master thesis I did a lot of physical tests, which now should be analyzed as professional as possible. First, I started to analyze the data with Excel – but then I realized that OriginLab has a lot more possibilities. Therefore, I began with tutorials.
My problem: I have so much data, that it would take too long to do the entire analyses one after the other. The finish line for my thesis moves closer – so time is my actual enemy right now. This is why I need to create analysis templates in order to get my results faster. At this point, I really need your support because there are too many questions I have at the moment. So I really would appreciate your help!
The physical tests: I ran pressure tests with with different test parameters. Each test parameter was performed 5 times.
What has to be analyzed: 1) Fist of all i want a diagramm with all of the 5 graphs of each test parameter. (The values of the x and the y axis should always be the same)
2) In a seperate diagramm i want all the 5 graphs with an extra graph which is the arithmetic average. In order to see the arithmetic average this graph should be red - all the others should be grey. Question 1: Is it possible to create an template which creates more than one diagramm? Question 2: How do i generate the arithmetic average graph with a template?
3) Now really important (i really couldn't figure that out at all): i need the E Modulus of the arithmetic average graph (which is the slope of the linear part at the beginning of the course of the curve). -> i know how to do this manually. But here comes Question 3: is it possibile to get the E-Modulus directly? -> My solution so far is: create a linear fit and decide myself where the linear part ends. But thats dilettante and impercise. Question 4:: Is it possible to get the e-Modulus by a mathematic determination? Probably by saying, that the mathematic misalignment is not bigger than a certain value? Question 5: Is it possible to mark the point within the diagramm where the linear part of the graph ends? Inkl. x- and y-value? I also need the Minumum of the global curve. Question 6: How do i mark the point and get the x- and y-values in the diagramm? And also get the distibution to the other graphs? Question 7: Is it possible to get the biggest deviation (distributiuon) of the average graph to the other ones? If this diagramm is done it could look like this:
For the next analysis probably an extra template is needed: 4) I need a comparison of the different test parameters Question 8: How do i create a template where only the arithmetic average graphs are imported and lined up in a diagramm?

This is a good amount of information to sort through, I don't immediately know the answers to some of these questions but I can certainly answer the first couple.
Q1: Is it possible to create a template which creates more than one diagram? Certainly, you can learn more about creating these at this support page- http://originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/MultiPanel-Template
Q2: How do I generate the arithmetic average graph with a template? When creating your template you can always use the "Set Column Values..." dialog (right click on the top of the respective column) and program the cells in question to add col(A)+col(B)...etc, and divide that by the number of columns. These kinds of analyses should get carried over when making a template, however I would also recommend reading-- http://originlab.com/doc/User-Guide/Handling-Repetitive-Tasks
The answers to your other questions aren't immediately apparent to me, I would certainly recommend going to Google and doing some searches using "site:originlab.com/forum" and any number of keywords to see if these problems haven't been specifically raised in the past. Otherwise I'm certain that others users here can answer some more of these questions
