Operating System: Windows 7 (in Parallels Desktop on Mac OS X)

Hey there,

i am trying to select a single data point in a column diagram to change the color of some of the columns. I tried it by pressing ctrl and double clicking, but it does not work. it just opens the overall plot details, but not the details for a single data point. i am kind of desperated because the ctrl button works fine for all other usages.

i am looking forward to your help and suggestions.

Hi blink23,

Can you try to use the fn key in combination with Ctrl key?

If that doesn't work, are you able to use the Ctrl key in combination with other Windows applications running in Windows in Parallels? For example, can you use Ctrl+c to copy text in Word and Ctrl+v to paste the text?

If not, then it is most likely a setting in Parallels that needs to be changed and you can search Google for an answer as to how to deal with the issue.

BTW- assuming the fn key works, here is a list of the most common other Origin keyboard shortcuts when running Origin in a VM:

Hi,

I am afraid what leads the problem as your decription.
We have tried to test in Window7 64bit Parallels 11 on Mac, but we cannot reproduce this problem.

In Origin8, it just support to use "Ctrl" key to select the single data point in the graph, but in the newest version Origin2016, you can select the single data point by other two ways:
*Click the point once to select the plot. Then click the data point again to select this point. After this point has been selected, double-click it to open the Plot Details dialog box.
or
*Click the point once to select the plot. Then click the data point again to select this point. Then right-click on the point and select Edit Point from the short-cut menu.

You can try to download the Origin2016 demo version to try it.

Thanks
