Origin Ver. 8.6 (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Win 7

Hello. I' m new in origin and forum as well. The problem is:

I have 200 measurement files of two columns each. The first column is the same for all files. I need to take one row (for example row No 100- the same for all files) from each file. I need to form new worksheet where the column is formed from all 200 values of 100th rows from all 200 files.

Could you please suggest how to do this in the simpliest and fastest way.

Thank you very much in advance.

Origin supports multiple ascii import.
Also Origin supports partial import.

So choose File: Import: Multiple ASCII... and select files to import.
Then in the dialog that comes next,
Choose Import mode to start new row.
Check partial import and specify from row and to row to be 100.

Just FYI: In Origin 2016, we support partial import from 2nd file on. In your case of all 1st column is the same, you can easily skip all 1st columns from 2nd file on so data will be imported into XYYY.... form.

Thanks, Snow Li
