We added Implicit fit since Origin 9.0. And it's a Pro only feature.
If you have older version or regular Origin, you will not see the menu.
This is the Key Features by Version table http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?go=Products/Origin&PID=1029

  Thanks, Snow

We can fit Ellipse with implicit fitting function.
  1. Select menu Analysis:Fitting:Nonlinear Implicit Curve Fit to open the dialog. 2. Select "Ellipse" for Function.
