Dear Origin users, I am trying to run Origin through a Biova Pipeline Pilot protocol. I have simplified this to run the command line: "f:\Program Files\OriginLab\Origin9\Origin9.exe" -R run.file("F:\Data\image.ogs") -H "F:\Data\266.opj" this produces a jpg from the opj. When I type this command into a dos window it works fine. When I run it through Pipeline Pilot, I see Origin start up for just long enough to appear on Windows Task Manager, then it exits without doing anything.
I have dumbed down the ogs script so it only prints a message - again it runs ok when I execute from command line but not through Pipeline Pilot.
My best guess is that some environment variables are not set correctly.
Can anybody advise me on how to get this to work?
thanks, George Fitzgerald

Posted - 02/17/2016 : 3:29:10 PM Chris, thanks for the reply. I have a follow up question that is more Origin-related. I can see that origin.exe starts up for maybe 1 second before stopping. Can Origin produce any stderr or stdout that I could capture? I haven't been able to find any such files, so I wondered whether they are written deep in the origin folders or perhaps I need a command line argument to generate them. thanks

Posted - 02/17/2016 : 2:35:02 PM Hi gfitzgerald,
That's a good question though one I don't think we can address because we are not familiar with Biova Pipeline Pilot. That your command runs correctly from the command line but not via Biova Pipeline Pilot is indicative that perhaps it is a setting involved with that product.
I would suggest that you try contacting their technical support and see what input they may have.
