Hello everyone,
Is it possible to make dotted lines between any selected data points and keep the remaining part solid? In excel it is done by individually formatting every single data point.

Two features newly added in Origin 2016 can easily do this.
1. Group data in plot
2. Map line style to a column value
E.g. On Graph window, choose Gadget: Cluster.
Move the rectangle to region you want to show dashes.
Click Add Category button to mark them a group.
A new column is added next the the data column in worksheet to mark which group it belongs to.
Delete the gadget.
Double click the plot and on Line tab, map Line Style to the Group column values. From graph above, you can see i marked two sections of plot as one group.

Hi Ameya--
One way you can do this is by selecting a portion of your data and using the drag/drop method (placing your cursor to the right edge of selected cells), you'll be able to plot different sections of your data onto the same graph.
This way you'll be able to change the symbol/line style for one segment without affecting the entirety of your data. The one drawback for this is that it may hinder some analyses of the graph such as the integration gadget, etc. Otherwise that should work.
