Hi,
by plotting my data to a greyscale map the output is a coarse, chessboard type result (Origin 6.0). Increasing the number of levels in colormap/contours does not help to overcome the problem. Data are are regular converted to the matrix since the are sampled by a CCD. However, other concersion methods did not improve the result.
Has anyone an idea how to overcome that problem ?

This should work in all versions of Origin...
1. Create a greyscale map.
2. Turn Speed mode off as described above.
3. Click the Save Template button on the Standard toolbar and OK the resulting prompt.

Is it possible to set the default speed mode to off or a higher value?

Hi Dirk,
Select Format->Layer and go to the Size/Speed tab. Uncheck the Speed mode option for matrix data.
