Hi,

I want to make a list of specific data points I select from a graph using the data "Data Reader" tool. Usually I select and then type the number I read from the data display, but I wish to make this process faster. Is there a faster way to select the points from the graph and copy them into a workbook?

Thanks.

Hi,

Try this:
1) From the main Origin menu, select Window->Command Window.
2) In the Command Window, type pickpts -d;
3) In the Pick Points dialog that pops up, among other controls, you can specify the Number of Points to Get. This is the maximum number- you can pick fewer points and hit the Esc key on your keyboard when done picking points. Click the OK button to begin picking points.

Once you click the OK button to start picking points, there will be helpful hints in the status bar at the bottom of the main Origin window.

Also It might take some practice to get the technique exactly right but it's not too hard.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Chris Drozdowski
