Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8
Operating System: Windows 7

Hello,

I have plotted a contour graph. Now i need to extract the data of one particular contour line.

Problem:

I am not able to select a contour line and extract the data in Version 8. Is there any other alternative way to extract the x and y coordinates for each of the z-values ?

Hi Deepak,

Unfortunately we stopped supporting Origin 8 a while back as it is a quite old version.

In newer versions of Origin such as our latest release, Origin 2016, we made it really quite easy to extract contour lines.

See:
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Create-Contour-Graph#Extracting_Contour_Lines

I suggest that you download the demo version of Origin 2016 and give it a try.
