When fitting a plotted set of points with the Analysis > Fitting menu, is there a way to stretch the new plotted curve on a range longer than that of the original points?
In other words I want to extrapolate the fitting curve past the range of the original data. This should be easy since the fitting tool knows the curve's equation y(x).

Hi,

In Origin 8.0, if you want to extrapolate the fitting curve past the range of the original data.

If you do Linear Fit, in the "Linear Fit" dialog, expand "X Data Type" node under the "Fitted Curve Plot" section, choosing the "Custom" for Range, then you can define the fitted curve X Min and Max.

If you do the Nonlinear Curve Fitting, in the "NLFit" dialog, choose the "Fitted Curve" page under the "Setting" tab. Then expand "X Data Type" node under the "Fitted Curve Plot" section, choosing the "Custom" for Range, then you can define the fitted curve X Min and Max.

Thanks
