I should like to know how to solve the following small nuisance: when I do a fit to a dataset which I have plotted in a graph, the legend of the graph automatically changes to default. It often happens that I had already changed the legend to fit my own preferences, which I have to do again then. Of course I can first do all the fitting and only then provide the correct legend, but I should like to know how I can switch off the automatic changing of the legend after fitting.

Your first option seems to work. Although the appearance of a second legend after each fit is not very user friendly either... I had already checked that the Auto Update checkbox was off. But unfortunately fitting (and maybe also other data operations) indeed don't follow it. Maybe something to change in a future version of Origin?
