I am having a problem printing a worksheet of data using OriginPro 7 SR4. When I print the worksheet of data all I get are weird icons in the columns in place of the numbers and text. The worksheet looks OK in the "print preview" though. I opened the same worksheet in Origin 6.0 and it printed fine. What could be the problem? I am using Windows 2000 and an HP Laserjet 2200d printer.

Same here.
Winxp SP1, OriginPro 7.5, HP LJ 1200. Worksheets are Text&Numeric, in Print preview looks OK. On hard copy i got symbols from Wingdings Windows font instead of digits and text. Changing font to any ttf font solve this problem, but worksheet on screen became much less readable in comparision with "system" font.
Any other workaround?

Changing the font on the worksheet from "Use System fonts" to "Arial" worked. Now the worksheet prints as it should.

Thanks Laurie and CP for your help.

Charles.

Can you try changing the font on the worksheet? By default, worksheet is set to use System font, which is subject to the interpretation on each output devices. Try changing the font to "Arial". You can double-click the area on the right of the columns to open Worksheet Display Control.

Thanks.

CP

All of the columns are in Text&Numeric format.

I also have this problem when I restart OriginPro 7 (open a new project), open a new worksheet, type in some random numbers and print it out. Once again, all I get are weird icons (a telephone, a star, a mailbox, a folder, etc.) in the columns in place of the numbers and text.

I have e-mailed the worksheet file to tech support.

Hi Charles,
Do you see this problem with all your worksheets or does it seem specific to this one? What is the format of the columns? Is it Text&Numeric?

You might want to mail us the worksheet. You can save the window (File:Save Window As) separate from the project or you can send the entire Origin project file. Please send to tech@originlab.com.

Thank you.
