hi everyone

i've got a little problem subtracting data from each other.
i measured three spectra including one zero-line and now try to subtract the zero-line from the other two spectra.
with one of them it works - with the other one it doesn't.
the same prob occurs when i try to subtract a fixed value.

i am using origin 7 / XP
the same problem occurs with origin 4

all spectra have been obtain in exactly the same kind and
have the same number of values.

are there any known restrictions of the subtract-function?

looking forward for hints,
lunzius

hi easwar!

thanks for trying all those things

what I do now is that after importing the ascii-files into my graph, and processing the first spectrum with analysis|subtract|reference data, I make a worksheet of the second and the zero spectrum , copy the columns into a second worksheet, where where i subtract them by using "set column values.." and then add the result as a new plot to my layer...

I don't know who to contact for local tech support,
but i could send you my file und you just try if it works as normal
my email-address is tufffy@gmx.de

Hi Lunzius,

Are you using the menu item Analysis|Subtract and then the Reference Data submenu? Could not find any problems with it...I tried reference data in the same wks as the other data, and also in separate worksheet. Also tried different x spacing of data etc. and all worked fine.

Please provide additional details, or contact your local tech supp office and send them your files.
