hi...i need some help...
i don't know anything about graphs, but now i'm working on my thesis (fluorescence), so i'll have to learn...
i know how to make a graph (i'm working in wavelenghts on X axis and intensity on Y axis)but i need to calculate the area under the curve, the band width, the center and picks, etc, and i don't know how to do that, so if you can help me i'd thank you. |

Hi,
If you have data with just single peak, you can use the integrate command to get area, peak center etc. Just type "integrate %c" in the script window with the data plot active. Standard Origin also has a Pick Peaks and a Baseline tool to work with peak data, but the Peak Fitting Module (PFM) provides additional functionality: http://www.originlab.com/www/products/pfm/index.asp
Sounds like you have data with multiple peaks and wish to perform peak fitting and parameter extraction. If you own OriginPro, you should already have the PFM module. If you own standard Origin, you could currently upgrade to Pro and get the PFM module for free.
