I am condersidering getting Origin 7/7.5 but have some thoughts on version compability.
My qustestions are :
1.Which older versions will 7.5 read ?
2.Will any af the older versions read 7.5 og 7 and if so which ?

Origin has been designed to be both forward and backward compatible as early as version 5.0, so that,
1. 7.5 will read all older version files.
2. Older version of Origin will also read 7.5 files. But if a file saved from 7.5 contains certain 7.5 features, then is resave from 7.0, 6.1 and then load into 7.5 might loss those features. For example, 7.5 supports attaching files to an Origin project (OPJ) file, so if an OPJ file with an attachment, for example a PDF, is saved, it can be opened in 6.0, 6.1, or 7.0 fine (without these earlier version of Origin seeing the attachment of course), but now if you save this OPJ from 7.0, the attachment will be lost when loading into 7.5 again.
