Posted - 12/10/2003 : 04:44:15 AM Hi,
Prompted by Paul's note..
Our project teams routinely save Origin project files but the size of the files is fairly large relative to the amount of data analysed. OPJ files are routinely compressed to ~90% with winzip. Betraying my understanding here...could this not imply that there is potential for opj files to be considerably smaller..?
Cheers,
pete

Seems like that would play havoc with backward compatibility.

I just want to make a suggestion regarding OPJ file format ... What do you think about using an XML based ASCII file format (like the XML trees introduced by Origin7) and compress them by default to safe space, like OpenOffice (http://xml.openoffice.org/) is doing for Office Documents ...
