What version of Origin are you using? Are you selecting File --> Import rather than File --> Append ?

You can combine two Origin projects (.OPJ) by selecting append. In OriginLab Select File --> Append --> select the two projects you wish to combine. A folder will be created from each project. You can also select append with one of the projects already opened, then you will only need to select your second project you wish to combine with the opened project.
