Hello,

I am using OriginPro 9.4 with Win 10.

I have a scatter plot that has few points in the beginning, but many more points toward its end. So I want to remove some of the points at the end so that it looks better.
I tried going into Plot Details>Drop Lines>Skip Points, but the problem is that this option also takes points away from the beginning of my graph. In other words, I just want fewer points in a certain part of my graph. Would that be possible?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

You can plot the beginning and end section into different two plots, then use the “Skip Points” option in the 2nd plot to skip points.

1. Activate the source worksheet. Select the rows of the beginning section. Press “Ctrl” key on the keyboard and select the rows of the end section.
2. Click Scatter button to create a group of scatter plots.
3. Double click on the scatter plot to open the Plot Details dialog. Select “Independent” radio in the Group tab to ungroup the two plots.
4. Select the 2nd plot on the left panel. Go to Drop Line tab on the right. Select “Skip Points”.
5. Do further customization if needed.

Thanks,
Amanda
