I have recently upgraded from Origin 7.0 SR2 (no FLEXlm needed - only serial number) to Origin 7.5 (FLEXlm needed).
I have started up a license server downloaded from Macrovision, but my license file require a vendor daemon called ORGLAB.EXE.
Where can I find such file?
I can't find it in my installation CD.
Thank's for help!

Hi Nils:

We are currently testing a vendor daemon for Red Hat Linux 9.0. I am told that this is specific to Red Hat 9.0; it will not work with other versions of Linux. I would guess that, barring complications, this will be made available within a couple of weeks.

We've recently purchased a Sun system and we plan to create a daemon for that platform, too (specific OS was undecided last I knew), but it could be a couple of months before this is ready to go.

P.S. I can't speak to the browser error problem, but I will alert one of the web programmers to your post.

Is there a timetable, like next week ?-)
We (a research organisation) rely essentially of beeing independent!

By the way, the origin web-site gives a dirty error, if the browser
does not send an identification. This is NO GOOD style!

We are looking into possible future support of Linux/Unix OSs, but currently OriginLab only provides a Windows-based vendor daemon.

We are running our FlexLM on an IBM RS/6000 with AIX 4.3.
Is there a vendor daemon for AIX 4.3
If not is there at least one for Linux?

Hi Manuel,
You should obtain the FLEXlm server installation files from OriginLab. First check if the file FLEXlm92.zip is on your Origin 7.5 product CD (it is on the SR1 based CDs... but not the SR0 based CDs). This is the zip file of the FLEXlm server install files. It is version 9.2 and includes the OriginLab vendor deamon, orglab.exe. If you don't have it on your CD, then log in to the OriginLab website and click the My Profile link on the web page footer. Now you should see your User Profile page. There is a link on the left to download the FLEXlm Sever installation files. Also, if you don't have the instructions to install and setup your FLEXlm server, you can download these instructions too (your Origin package should have included instructions).

Note for all - only GROUP licenses need to install and set up a FLEXlm server. Single user Origin 7.5 licenses use a node locked license file for management.
