I was hoping someone would know how the reference line is fitted for Weibull Probability plots in Origin. I was reconstructing a Weibull plot and calculating the shape and scale parameters by double recipricoal log vs log linearization of my data in excel. However when I pull the scale and shape parameters out of that linear fit they do not match my values found by Origin.

For example by excel calculation I find shape = 21.46 and scale = 1875.398. But Origin finds values for that identical data as shape = 24.418 and scale = 1877.205

Is the reference line somehow constrained or an intercept prescribed in Origin? I am simply trying to understand how the parameters are extracted by Origin.

Thank you for any advice or insight!

Hi,

We have a help page about Probability Plot, in which you can find the density function and the details of other options:
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/ProbPlot-QQPlot#Distributions
Could you please have a look to see whether you can find the answer on this page?

If you still feel confused, could you please send your Excel file and your Origin project to us via tech@originlab.com.

Regards,
Yuki
