Hi,

I have Origin 7.5 SP2 with the NMR addon. Now I can't define my own functions in NLSF. When I try to use the funciton I get the message: Error 28037. Likely caused by errors in user defined formula or poor parameter initialization. And, this is not the case!

I plot an exponential function y=P1+exp(P2/x)and then define a function in NLSF that is similar to that. Then I try to fit my dataset with this function. NLSF then makes a good fit, and gives the correct parameters, but at the end of each iteration I get the error message, and there are no error margins or dependencies for the parameters.

The built in functions work normally.

Hi Espen:

It is hard to say what the problem may be. Sometimes these NLSF error messages are instructive and sometimes they are triggered by a seemingly unrelated problem. Your best bet would be to contact your Origin technical support representative (which in your case is DoubleClick AB) and have them take a look at your fitting function and your data (if that is possible).

Regards,
Mike
