In order to speed the 3-D ploting,we can use the speed mode
,and get a simpler graph.
But i was wondering, how origin do that? what is the basic algorithm
to select the "useful" data? Because i also want to transfer my data
to not be so comlicated!

Thanks a lot!

Have you tried the graphic export settings that Mike pointed out?

Plot Properties->Miscellaneous Tab->Performance section...
If speed mode is enabled for display, apply to graphic export as well.

In my example you would see these points (row,col)...

(1,1) (1,4) (1,7) ...
(4,1) (4,4) (4,7)
(7,1) (7,4) (7,7)
.
.
.

The Print... dialog also has speed mode options.

Now i solved the print out problem. Thanks again.
But why when using "copy page" the speed mode graph and pasting it on the powerpoint, then the speed mode is lost?
Is translating the speed mode graph to the JPG file the only way?

And in the 100x100 matrix, Of course you will see those data,
(1,1) (1,4) (1,7) ...
(4,1) (4,4) (4,7)
(7,1) (7,4) (7,7)
.
.
.

But i am talking about how those data below be shown on the speed mode coutour map? Because we did not change the range the axis.

(1,2),(1,3),(1,5),(1,6)...
(2,1),(2,2,),(2,3),(2,4)...
.
.
.

backy, "Speed Mode" settings can be applied to:

  • screen display (Size/Speed tab in Plot Details).
  • print out (Skip Points check box in the Print dialog box).
  • graphic export to file or Clipboard (Performance group on the Plot Details Miscellaneous tab).

If you are using Origin 7.5, you can read about this under Origin Help topic Speed Mode.

I think it just uses standard decimation. If your matrix is 100x100 and your speed mode settings are X: 32 and Y: 32 then every third point (100/32) is shown in both the X and Y dimensions.

Does that means all these following values,(1,1),(1,2),(1,3),(2,1),(2,2),(2,3),(3,1),(3,2) is setting by the value of (3,3) to form the contour map?
and how to print out the graph in speed mode( if you just print out the graph, it will show the real complcated one).

thanks again!
