Currently using Origin 6.1. In Windows XP Professional, Origin says that it needs to write in the registry and therefore needs the administrator's mode to run fully. Has this been fixed in Origin 7.5?

You probably are better off upgrading to Origin 7.5, but I just tried using Origin 6.1 as a non-Administrator in XP pro and had no problems at all. I think you should disregard the cautionary message you saw. Have you had any specific problems?

Thanks for the info. Now, I am certain I need to upgrade from 6.1 to 7.5. :)

I've also used Origin 7.5 in XP Pro as a non-administator with no problems. However, you may need adminitrative priveleges to install it.

...The only registry accesses (other than during installation) by Origin that I am aware of concern the toolbars. That goes for Origin 6.1 as well so you shouldn't have problems in that version either.
