Posted - 06/17/2004 : 09:45:36 AM Hello,
I tried this in the latest version 7.5, and as far back as 6.1 and it worked fine for me: 1> filled a new matrix with values = sin(x)*cos(y) 2> made a contour line plot 3> brought up plot details, and in the Color Map/Contours tab, changed individual line properties for all Z values that are negative to dashes and closed the dialog 4> plot updates to show dashed lines for -ve z and solid lines for +ve z
Did you try stretching the window, or viewing the graph in full screen mode (menu: View->Full Screen) - perhaps the line style change was not apparent?
Also, note that dash patter spacing can be changed by using the Tools->Options menu item to bring up the Options dialog, and then changing the dash length and separation parameters on the Graph tab of this dialog.

Once you have created your contour plot:
1. Select Format:Plot from the Origin menu. This opens the Plot Details dialog box. 2. Select the Color Map/Contours tab and point to the individual line styles for Level values < 0 (in the Line column). 3. When the pointer becomes a "hand," click once to open a dialog box in which you specify line color, style, and width.
