Posted - 07/12/2004 : 12:03:08 AM Hi, I am new to Origin and would like to have some advice. I want to draw the outer envelope of a sinusoidal function whose amplitude also varies periodically. How can I draw the outer envelope and record the points it passes through? Also, if a prticle moves in circles with two frequencies (like the moon revolving around the earth and also around the sun) and I have its position at different times, then can I seperate the data corresponding to the two frequencies? I want to plot the radii of the two circles with respect to time seperately. Thanks for your suggestions. |

Regarding drawing outer envelopes, try the following: http://www.originlab.com/FileExchange/details.aspx?C=5&cid=18&fid=39
As for separating data corresponding to the two frequencies of motion, have you tried FFT filtering?
