Posted - 07/23/2017 : 04:39:21 AM Hello, I am using Origin 9.0.0 and need some help with a labeling. I made a column + label chart and would like to add a second row to the X label. https://ibb.co/btyNaQ I added some image, I would like the season below the fruit. I tried to label the fruit as X1 and the season as X2 but it still does not work. Maybe someone knows the way? Thanks in advance, She-ro |

Posted - 07/23/2017 : 11:17:30 PM Hi Shero,
If I do not misunderstand your question, you want to custom the graph as the below image:
But Origin 9.0 is an old version and it does not support multiple rows for the axis. I suggest you can upgrade to our newest version Origin 2017. And you can download and try its demo version from our webpage: http://www.originlab.com/demodownload.aspx
In Origin 2017, if you want to plot this graph: 1. Put the two rows label in two columns of the Worksheet as the above image.
2. Highlight column B(X), C(Y) and D(Y) to plot the "Columns" plot.
3. Double click on the X axis to open the Axis dialog.
4. Make sure the Bottom axis is chosen in the left panel, and then go to the Tick Labels tab, choose subtab Table, and then check Enable box , choose 2 in the Number of Rows drop-down list. Please refer to this help page: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/AxesRef-TickLabels#Table_Tab
5. Then you will find there are two Bottom axes are in left panel.
6. For the new Bottom axis, go to the Display subtab, and select [Book1]Sheet1!A as the Dataset Name
7. Click OK .
