Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): origin 6.1
Operating System: Window XP
Hi,
I'm a new user of Origin 6.1 and
I want to fit a plot with this equation
y = P1 (1 + x/0.16) + 0.01
but I don't get any result. I don't find any mistake and I can't figure out what's going on. One of the message I got is
"Error, too few data points, or the data step is too big"
Thanks,
Julian

Hi Easwar,

thank you so much.
Now, I was able to fit it.
Best,
Julian

Hi Julian,

I did not notice it the first time, but your function needs to be defined as:
y = P1 * (1 + x/0.16) + 0.01
(you had the * missing after the P1).

Also, in the function edit page of the NLSF tool, you need to set the Form drop-down list to either Y-Script or Equations (and not the default Expression) setting.

If I define the function as above, I can fit with your function and your data.

Hi Julian,

If the data you are fitting with is small in size, please paste it here so we can try. Otherwise contact tech support directly with your data/OPJ.
