Posted - 11/15/2004 : 4:27:26 PM Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): origin 6.1 Operating System: Window XP Hi, I'm a new user of Origin 6.1 and I want to fit a plot with this equation y = P1 (1 + x/0.16) + 0.01 but I don't get any result. I don't find any mistake and I can't figure out what's going on. One of the message I got is "Error, too few data points, or the data step is too big" Thanks, Julian |

I did not notice it the first time, but your function needs to be defined as: y = P1 * (1 + x/0.16) + 0.01 (you had the * missing after the P1).
Also, in the function edit page of the NLSF tool, you need to set the Form drop-down list to either Y-Script or Equations (and not the default Expression) setting.
If I define the function as above, I can fit with your function and your data.
