Using origin on a nice new PC?

windows xp comes with lovely alpha blended icons and themes

but origin still lives in the superficial dark ages!

Youll struggle to skin the entire app, so heres a wee icon you can put on your desktop or startmenu that doesnt neet a paper bag over its head.

As far is copyright is concerned, dunno. Happy origininnniniinninng.

nilaysoft,

Thank you for your additional suggestion! We will be sure to consider an update of our toolbar icons as well.

In the design of the future version, please also consider to redecorate toolbar icons, viz, use rich colors, gradient, 3D view etc. It is also great if all toolbar controls are contained inside a Rebar control, which will make the Origin interface more friendly. The Rebar control has the build-in support of chevrons, gradient fill, gripper etc.

As you may already know, here is a useful webpage:

The following pic demonstrates the difference:

Hi rogersman,

Thank you for your suggestion. Your icon is quite nice!

Just so you know, we are planning a larger version of our program icon for Origin version 8.0. We are also considering a redesign our icons.

If you have any suggestions for what these icons should look like, please feel free to let us know. Please keep in mind that, in addition to the Origin program icon, there are several file types in Origin that display using different icons in Windows. For example:

1. The Origin project icon (for OPJ files)
2. An Origin graph window icon (for OGG files - same as 1.)
2. An Origin worksheet window icon (for OGW files)
3. An Origin matrix icon (for OGM files)

We look forward to any feedback you can provide, and thank you for your interest in Origin.

- The OriginLab Team
