Operating System: Win XP Prof
I've bumped into the following problem: I have data arranged in three columns (X, Y, Yerr) and whenever I try to plot them all using log10 scale all error bars are misplaced (shifted to the right for about 5 units independingly of the scale value).
Is there any solution?

Hi Alexander,
I don't understand why, but this happens as a result of some interplay between the error bars, the axis scale values and the "Speed Mode" settings that systematically reduce the number of plotted points in your graph. I see the problem on Origin 6.1 and it is still happening with Origin 7.5 (so we will have to investigate further).
In the meantime, I can offer a possible workaround: With your graph active, select Format:Layer, choose the Size/Speed tab and in the Speed Mode, Skip Points if needed group, change Worksheet data, maximum points per curve to something like 350(or 400, 500...something like that).
This should correct the problem (I hope).

HTTP server somehow treats OGG files as something suspicious and doesn't allow the downloading. I put the file onto the FTP server:
ftp.neurobiologie.fu-berlin.de/fafaw/logproblem.ogg

I am finally back to the office and performed several test. The problem persists in all views, so switching to another mode (like "Printer View" or "Page View") doesn't help. I noticed if I export the image into PNG I get normal (not misplaced) image. Strange.
Here is a screenshot what it looks like in Print mode.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I am out of the office and can't test all you advise, but to clarify the point: I am using "scatter"-graph, e.g. the first template. I used only "Page View" mode and didn't try to switch to any other mode -- it's an interesting idea.
As soon as I am back I'll produce a TIFF image of the graph and give the link to it.

Hi Alexander,
I'm sorry, but I can't reproduce this problem. There are a couple of ways in which you could have produced your graph -- one using the SCATTER plot template, the other using the ERRBAR template. Just for "grins", you might try re-creating your graph using both templates (SCATTER.OTP is the template used by the 2D Graph "Scatter" toolbar button; ERRBAR.OTP is the template used by the 2D Graph Extended "Y Error" toolbar button) and see whether this solves the problem.
Also, you don't say whether this problem manifests itself on screen, in print, or both. If it is a "screen-only" problem, it might be a video driver bug (particularly, suspect if you are using the default "Page View" View Mode). If it is only a display problem, try switching to View:Print View. If it also appears in printout, then you obviously have another problem.
