Greetings colleagues, I have a problem and I simply cannot find a solution myself, so I kindly ask for your assistance.

I am analyzing some DSC (diff. scanning calorimetry) data for my masters degree, therefore I must integrate many peaks to determine energy, etc.. (I have over 80 DSC scans).
To do so, I must integrate a peak with a straight line as its baseline between its extremities.

From what I see there are two options to do this:
First: Use the Peak Analyzer feature.
Second: Use the Gadget Integrate.

Problem on First method (Peak Analyzer):
During the baseline creation I cannot precisely set the anchor points values to, let's say 54 and 65, so I can have a baseline to precisely integrate this peak between this range.

Please note that I must have a reproducible procedure, that is why I cannot simply drag the anchor points to the random values that this feature allows me to.

Problem on Second method (Gadget>Integrate):
Here I set the baseline to be a straight line between the integration box extremities (shown as a plot of a rectangle), that fit's perfectly my needs for a baseline.
Now the problem is that once again I cannot precisely set the range of this integer. Once again all I can do is drag around the integration limits and cannot set it's values to integrate from 54 to 65, precisely.

Do you have any suggestion on this topic?

Thank you very much for your time!
Fernando

Hi,

Did you try to subtract baseline first? (Peak analyser: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/Create-Subtract-Baseline)

or by Analysis\Data Manipulation\Subtract straight line (or reference)?

For my data analysis I do that quite often. Best,

Nikolay
