I get the above error message when starting origin
As posted in Topic 3756 I found the following linker error

Linking Failed!

How do I proceed from here ? where to find and/or place the missing file?

Gi

You were right the message said that the linker couldn't find the function body of....
Thanks for your advice, however I was not lucky in fixing the problem by following your suggestions, so
I did a complete reinstall (including a removal of the origin folder) to remedy the problem.
Hope it doesn't show up again when I will continue to work on those origin c projects that may have caused the trouble....

Hi again,

Something is most likely wrong with your startup workspace..either startup.ocw or filter_utils.c (the source file containg the body of the function fuSetHeaderParamDefined) is missing or corrupted.

You could:
1. Make sure the files filter_utils.c and .h exist in your OriginC\OriginLab\ folder and that filter_utils.c is listed in the file startup.ocw (do a File:Open Workspace menu item and open OriginC\OriginLab\startup.ocw).
2. Or, try doing a re-install or repair of Origin,
2. Or, tell me your exact build and email address and I will send the needed files.

Gary,
OriginLab

Hi,

If you need to use Origin right away I suggest renaming the file OriginC\Originlab\startup.ocw until we figure out what is wrong. You will have a less than complete Origin but will be able to do many things.

Would you mind translating the error message for me...I must admit my German is morethan a bit rusty. I suspect you are missing a file containing the function fuSetHeaderParamDefined which I will locate for you and then post here again.

Also please let me know the exact build of Origin you are using (Help:About Origin).

Thanks,

Gary
OriginLab
