My question is targeted to Bar Chart Legends. Is there a method whereby I can create an enhanced legend to include pattern fills as a stand alone legend item (as can be done for bar colors). I wish to use combinations of bar fill color and bar fill pattern to represent different levels of two categorical variables. I need a legend which shows bar color separately from bar fill pattern (pattern on a white background) since each combination of color/fill will not be present in a particular plot.

Hi,

Currently indexing of the fill pattern based on a categorical variable is not supported - we will look into adding this.

One could instead index the bar border color and the patter color on two separate categorical variables and show this in an enhanced legend such as below:
