Hello!

I want to show columns and i want to log scale the x axis. Th y-axis should be at position x = 1. Doing this in Excel, y-values > 1 are shown as ascending column, y-values as descending column. Thatīs fine. But not so in Origin. I only get ascending columns from the bottom ending under (y < 1) or above (y > 1)the y-axix.
What have I got to change?

Thanks!
Eva

Hi Eve,

Something else you might want to know...

If you do want to display the vertical axis at position 1 as described previously, you can also force the tick labels stay with the axis by doing this...
After you set the axis position to At Position = 1, then select the Custom Tick Labels tab and select the "Labels stay with axis" check box.

Hi Eva,

I think you need to select Tools:Options and then select the Graph tab and select the "Log Scale Use 1 as Floor" check box.
Then when you create your bar graph and set the bottom axis to Log10 scale, you will see the bars displaying as you describe.

Also, if you want to display the vertical axis at position 1 on the bottom scale, double-click on the bottom axis and then select the Vertical icon in the Selection list. Then select the Title and Format tab and select Axis Position = "At Position =" and enter 1 in the Percent/Value text box.
